Liaqat Ali Khan
In 2002, the PPP’s Syed Asad Murtaza Gilani, the nephew of Yousuf Raza Gilani, won this seat against Syed Javed Ali Shah of the PMLN by a narrow margin of less than 2000 votes. Nawab Liaquat Ali Khan of the PMLQ was a few hundred votes behind Shah. Gilani later defected from the PPP and joined the PMLQ.
In 2008 elections, however, Syed Asad Murtaza Gilani represented PMLN. He switched party again after PML-Q nominated Syed Mujahid Shah instead of him. Liaqat Ali Khan who also switched party won this seat for PPP with adequate margin while Asad got just above 11000 votes.
PMLQ’s Syed Mujahid Shah was the brother of district naib nazim Wajid Ali Shah and the cousin of Senator Javed Ali Shah. Khan, who won a provincial assembly seat in the 1990, 1993, 1997 and 2002 elections, has also worked as the vice-chairman of the Multan district council in 1979 and 1987.
This is a PPP bound constituency consists of Shujabad tehsil and its rural areas, and PPP is still strong in this constituency though this time PML-N expected to give a tough fight.

Syed Mujahid Ali Shah will be the PML N candidate here pml n candidate in 2008 got 12k vote 38k got by syed mujahid ali shah.

@Ilyas: you seem educated but like all others u r using the same language. try and respect coz tommorrow u wont be respected as well. regardless of what everyone did, NS, SS,IK, Zardari still using bad language against them wont help you gain anything…
as far as NA 152 is concerned people are happy with the work SS did in Gujrawanla and i guess i hardly see any seat on NA or PA going any where else then PML-N. i guess a couple of tight fights i see but at the end i guess here PML-N will finish first..

@Munawar, I can understand your emotions. Believe me, if PMLN is given 5 years of government and they fail to bring revolutionary changes then they will be wiped out of Pakistan. PPP has very strong ideological roots but after 5 complete years of government, they are ready to accept defeat. PMLN has, comparatively, educated voters who are not as loyal as PPP’s jiyalas so even if PMLN comes into power and complete 5 years without changing the system, they will be wiped out because their voters now have other choice.
